| The
membership at the moment,
comprising of equally balanced sections, stands at twenty excluding
Conductors and Accompanists, so we are obviously always on the lookout
for new members. Similar to most other choirs (it seems), it is difficult to encourage younger men to sing in Male Voice Choirs, and this year is exceptional because of the four students we have recruited from the University of Cumbria. The age range of the Choir at the moment is from 20 to 89 and it would be nice to be able to expand the lower end of the age range, but if you are of a 'more mature age' don't feel that you will not be made most welcome. We do not hold auditions and the ability to be able to read music is not mandatory although obviously it helps. We assume that since you have taken the trouble to access our website you are curious and maybe interested, so why not go along with your curiosity and come and give us a try (we don't lock the door behind you when you arrive to make sure that you don't escape!) Our rehearsal night is Tuesday and we meet in the Lower Room at the Lancaster Methodist Church on Scotforth Road, (the entrance is on Kensington Road, down by the side of the church, as shown on the map ), and lasts from 7.00 pm. sharp until 9.00 pm. To view where our rehearsal room is, see below. *** We have now started rehearsals for 2011, at 7.00 pm at the rehearsal room as shown below. We are now getting very short of singers and so we are making this appeal to anyone who would like to experience male voice singing to come along to the rehearsals. Remember, there are no auditions, it's just for those who want to sing and enjoy the company of other guys who do also. We hope to see YOU there. *** |
