Officers

Patron .....       Lady  Shuttleworth
    Lady Shuttleworth, who lives at Leck Hall, became Patron to the Choir in 2008.   The village of Leck, which is situated to nearby Kirkby Lonsdale, is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Executive President    .............. Mrs. Suzie Reynolds
    Suzie Reynolds lives and works at Leighton Hall  --- a house with a long musical tradition. Her association with the choir and the concerts the members perform in the Leighton Music Room, are very much appreciated, and she feels that both contribute greatly to keeping an important musical tradition alive and thriving in North Lancashire. The Choir hold her in high regard. 
 
 
President ......... Irene Bell
   Irene has been associated with the Choir for more years than she cares to remember. She and a former Deputy Conductor, Elaine Kitchen, appeared as guest soloists at many, many choir concerts. It was in 1998 that she was approached to become President and she graciously accepted.
 
 Vice-presidents ......  Betty Pickard
   Betty (a former Mayor of Lancaster) was President from 1957 to 1983 and since then she has been a Vice-president to the present day.
 
                            ...... Norman Wilkinson
   Norman joined the Choir in 1951 and has served in various capacities since, particularly as Chairman for ten years and has been a vice-president since 1984.
      Whilst he has now retired as a singing member, Norman, now 100 years of age, still takes a lively interest in choir activities.

                            ...... Ian Barbour
  Ian joined the Choir in 1979 and has recently given up singing because of health problems. He became a Vice-president in 2011.
 
 Chairman ........    Dr. Hugh Cutler BA, PhD.
      Hugh was Dean for Research at the newly-formed University of Cumbria until recently
      but had 25 years service with the establishment under  its old name of St. Martin's College before he retired.     Hugh joined the Choir in 2005. 
 
  Vice Chairman .......  Roland Brooke ACP, Cert. Ed.
     Roland lives in Lancaster. He joined the Choir in 1987 and since 1991 he has occupied the positions of Secretary,  Chairman and Publicity Officer. More recently he was the Welfare Officer. He sings with the Baritones.
  
 Secretary ........     Chas Matthews
   Chas lives in Bentham. He sings in the Top Tenor section and joined the Choir in September 2009. He became Secretary at the AGM in 2010.         (tel. 015242 63345)
 
 Treasurer ... ...    Jack Yates
   Jack lives in Morecambe. He sings with the Baritones and joined the Choir in 2007. He became Treasurer at the AGM in 2009.
 
 Musical Director ......    Derek Walters ARCM ; FTCL :LTCL :LGSM : FLCM :
   Derek has had a wide musical experience as a Conductor and Composer, having in the past conducted choral societies in South Lancashire and London. He studied with Sir Adrian Boult and holds diplomas from four main colleges of music in London, being awarded a Silver Medal by the Guildhall School of Music. But he is more widely known as an authority on Chinese Traditional Culture. In this latter capacity he is regularly invited to speak at international conferences from Brazil to China, (only last year he was giving a series of talks to villagers in a remote part of Siberia. ) and is the author of several successful books translated into more than a dozen languages. It is only recently, having retired to Morecambe, that he felt the need to become involved once again with his first love, music. He led his first rehearsal of the Choir on Tuesday, 1st September 2009.

  Robert is currently in the Lower 6th at Ripley St. Thomas School in Lancaster

 Publicity Officer .......     Geoff Boulton
   Geoff lives in Lancaster He joined the Choir in 2005, took on the position as one of the Librarians in 2006, and became Publicity Officer in 2007.
 
  Welfare Officer ......   
 
 Minute Secretary ......   Prof. Ian Marshall
    Ian lives in Dolphinholme on the outskirts of Lancaster. He joined the Choir in 2011.

 Librarians ......   Arnold Diggle &
   Arnie (as he is known to all) lives in Quernmore, just on the outskirts of Lancaster. He joined the Choir in1985 and became the Librarian in 2000. He was joined by Geoff Boulton in 2006.
